Today, the Bybit headquarters location is One Central at Dubai World Trade Centre. However, Bybit also has separate regional entities in Vienna, Astana, Georgia, and other markets. The company coordinating its global strategy from Dubai may not be the same entity that provides services in your country.
Where Is Bybit Located?
Bybit’s global headquarters is in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The corporate office occupies a full floor at One Central, Dubai World Trade Centre, with approximately 16,000 square feet of office space.
In March 2022, Bybit revealed plans to relocate from Singapore after receiving in-principle approval to establish a virtual-asset business in Dubai. In April 2023, Bybit officially announced the opening of its new headquarters, overlooking the Burj Khalifa and Museum of the Future.
The Dubai office is the main Bybit location for corporate leadership and global strategy. Bybit remains an online platform, with users assigned to different entities according to their location and applicable regulations.
Singapore and Seychelles Roots
Bybit was founded by Ben Zhou in 2018 and initially operated from Singapore, which served as its headquarters for four years. Legally, the exchange was first incorporated in the British Virgin Islands before continuing operations through a Seychelles company.
The original BVI entity was never licensed there to provide financial services and was dissolved in 2023. The Seychelles FSA now lists Bybit Technology Limited in Mahé with its status marked as “Assessment”. Singapore was therefore Bybit’s operational base, while the BVI and Seychelles served as offshore corporate jurisdictions.
Why Bybit Moved to Dubai
Bybit moved its headquarters from Singapore to Dubai to benefit from the UAE’s crypto-specific regulations and expand across MENA. It announced the relocation in March 2022 after receiving in-principle approval in Dubai.
The move was not caused by a public ban or enforcement action in Singapore. However, Singapore was tightening retail crypto rules, while Dubai was actively attracting exchanges through VARA and dedicated virtual-asset regulations.
What Dubai Offers Bybit
Dubai places Bybit close to regulators, financial institutions, technology companies, and the growing MENA crypto market. Its location between Asian and European business hours also supports global operations.
In October 2025, Bybit secured a full Virtual Asset Platform Operator Licence from the UAE Securities and Commodities Authority. It later announced an Abu Dhabi operations centre and plans for more than 500 employees across Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Bybit’s Global Presence
Dubai is the main headquarters, but Bybit now follows a multi-entity structure. Each regional company can have its own management, licences, products, onboarding requirements, and user agreement.

Bybit EU
Bybit EU is operated by Bybit EU GmbH from Donau-City-Straße 7, Vienna, Austria. It is a separate European company rather than a Dubai branch.
Austria’s Financial Market Authority authorised Bybit EU under MiCAR in May 2025. This allows it to serve eligible EEA customers under local product and compliance requirements. Bybit also plans to employ more than 100 people in Vienna.
Kazakhstan and Georgia
Bybit Limited operates the Kazakhstan platform under an AFSA licence covering digital-asset trading, custody, and related services.
Bybit Georgia launched in March 2026 under VASP and payment-service authorisations from the National Bank of Georgia. These are locally regulated operations, while registrations in markets such as India do not necessarily confirm staffed offices.
Bybit Licences
Bybit does not hold one licence that applies everywhere. Its authorisations belong to specific companies and jurisdictions.
UAE Licence
Bybit secured a full Virtual Asset Platform Operator Licence from the UAE Securities and Commodities Authority in October 2025. It covers trading, brokerage, custody, and fiat conversion services.
The company’s 2022 in-principle approval was not a full operational licence. Bybit also does not appear among the active VASPs on VARA’s public register. It is therefore more accurate to cite its full SCA licence rather than claim a full operational VARA licence.
European Licence
Bybit EU GmbH holds a MiCAR authorisation from Austria’s Financial Market Authority. It covers custody, transfers, crypto-to-fiat exchanges, crypto-to-crypto exchanges, and crypto-asset placement.
European customers do not necessarily receive every global Bybit product. Derivatives, leverage, promotions, payment methods, and supported assets can vary.
Other Authorisations
Bybit holds an AFSA licence in Kazakhstan, while Bybit Georgia has VASP and PSP authorisations. It is also registered with India’s FIU for anti-money laundering compliance.
The Seychelles entity remains under assessment with the Seychelles FSA. Company registration, AML registration, and full exchange licensing are not equivalent.
Does Location Affect Users?
The Bybit location does not independently determine who can register. Access depends on the user’s residence, physical location, account entity, local regulations, and requested products.
Although Bybit is headquartered in Dubai, its global platform still lists Dubai as an excluded jurisdiction. Locally regulated UAE exchanges require separate permissions and terms.
European users are similarly served by Bybit EU GmbH under Austrian oversight, rather than by the company operating the international platform.
